With the construction of the new “Pusteblume” daycare center in the municipality of Schwalbach, whose opening is scheduled for April 17, exactly such a decision was made: by using the Bacterlon® surface coating technology, the transmission of germs on frequently touched contact surfaces is to be reduced – in the very places where children will play, sleep and be cared for every day.
Especially in the first years of life, the immune system is still developing. This makes it all the more important to create conditions that protect health while also making everyday life easier for families and educational staff.
A decisive factor in realizing this project was the support of the Ministry of the Interior of Saarland, which released the necessary funds. This funding shows how important it is for innovation and health protection in public facilities to be actively supported at the state level as well.
The project illustrates how municipalities can invest specifically in sustainable hygiene concepts as early as the planning phase of new buildings. In the future, children, educational staff and parents will benefit equally – and, in the long term, the operators too, through more efficient processes.
