Through our years of interdisciplinary research, we have succeeded in perfecting a process that is sustainable, permanent and effective in a wide variety of areas in order to protect surfaces and make them more hygienic, durable and resistant. Our ultrathin NP® coating does not change the surfaces visually, haptically or with regard to their breathability, but provides them with superphobic properties.

Our developments are always geared towards long-term benefits: Be it saving water and environmentally harmful cleaning agents, avoiding plastic as well as unhealthy pesticides or breaking infection chains.

For the application „Liquid glass against hospital germs“ – a research project triggered by an MRSA infection in close family circles – we have received several scientific awards. The fact that our work experienced positive attention from environmental and science awards, analysts, experts and the media right from the start confirms our endeavors to continuously advance the further development of our technology.

Our multi-award-winning NP® product portfolio forms an ultra-thin protective layer on both organic and inorganic surfaces that provides repellent properties: Dirt and pathogens cannot adhere.

This barrier layer cannot be perceived with bare senses and has been proven to be fully bio-compatible, which means that it can even be used on and inside the human body. Being five hundred times thinner than a human hair, the protective layer bonds with the surface and protects it for a long period of time. The same technology platform can be adapted to different substrate classes and industry requirements while maintaining the underlying NP® technology principle.

The repellent properties of the ultra-thin and bio-compatible NP® barrier layer physically prevent unwanted substances or harmful micro-organisms from adhering to organic and inorganic surfaces. This massively reduces the need for protective or cleaning chemicals.

Surface cleaning can often be done with just plain water and a cloth or soft brush. This reduces the amount of chemicals in the wastewater. Furthermore, the required amount of the valuable resource water itself is lower.

The ultra-thin layer based on SiO₂ can be returned to the natural cycle without burdening the ecosystem.

The physical protection of surfaces replaces chemical protection: seeds and plants are protected from mold and pests, for example, without introducing toxic pesticides into the natural cycle. This protects biodiversity to a large extent.

Equipping natural fibers with repellent and stabilizing properties — for packaging, for example — reduces the need for non-degradable conventional materials such as plastic.

NP® Liquid Glass is an ultra-thin, transparent surface coating based on a SiO₂ base matrix. It forms a permanent protective layer on organic and inorganic surfaces that makes them more hygienic, durable and resistant — without changing them visually, haptically or in their breathability.

The NP® barrier layer is roughly five hundred times thinner than a human hair. Despite being imperceptible to bare senses, it bonds with the surface and protects it for a long period of time.
